Biothane Care Guide

🐾 Caring for Biothane

Proper care of your Biothane dog gear will help extend its life and keep it looking its best.

🧼 Routine Cleaning

• Rinse regularly with lukewarm water and mild soap

• Gently wipe hardware dry after washing

• Always rinse thoroughly after swimming

⚠️ Do not use alcohol, solvents, harsh chemicals, or abrasive soaps.

🐕 Coat Oils & Material Longevity

Biothane is highly durable and resistant to moisture, but natural oils from your dog’s coat can accumulate over time. In dogs with oilier coats, regular cleaning is especially important to prevent buildup.

Excess oil left on the collar for extended periods may contribute to gradual stiffening of the material and can affect the long-term performance of applied finishes such as heat-transfer vinyl (HTV).

To maintain flexibility and preserve decorative elements, we recommend rinsing regularly with mild soap and lukewarm water, and thoroughly drying hardware after cleaning.

✨ Caring for Artwork Collars (Vinyl, UV Prints & Rhinestones)

Some collars include custom artwork, vinyl lettering, UV prints, or hand-placed rhinestones. These collars are designed to be worn, loved, and shown off – but they do require a little extra attention.

To keep your collar looking its best:

  • Avoid wearing during playtime or repeated friction (especially on hard surfaces, tree branches, etc)
  • Remove during crate time or high-impact activity
  • Limit prolonged water exposure & excessive temperatures
  • Clean regularly with lukewarm water and mild soap
  • Avoid harsh chemicals and soaps
  • Keep your dog’s coat clean! Oils from your pup’s coat may impact the life of the collar.

These collars are built for real life – just not the kind that involves constant abrasion or heavy daily wear.

Wear it. Love it. Show it off.
✨ Just treat it like the statement piece it is. ✨

🌡 Environmental Care

• Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat or extreme cold

• Do not store in hot vehicles for extended periods

🚫 Avoid Damage

• Do not use alongside a flea collar

• Remove collar before crating or rough play

• Regularly check for wear and tear

• Discontinue use if hardware or material becomes damaged
